Job Description

The Administrative Specialist – Research & Development / Accreditation is responsible for providing administrative support to the division. The employee serves as an assistant to a Captain or Lieutenant of the division or section, performing duties that include typing documents, maintaining files, researching files, sorting and distributing mail, monitoring division budgets, and assisting with divisional tasks. The employee coordinates and manages assigned office operations and supplies to ensure that proper supplies are available to office personnel. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED. An Associate Degree in Business Administration or Office Administration is preferred.
  • Must be able to type 35 wpm at 90% accuracy.
  • Must be willing to attend accreditation courses/training.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking.
  • Must have good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have good phone etiquette.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suites, Spillman, Laserfiche, PowerDMS, and other computer programs.
  • Must be able to work independently and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision.
  • Must be able to coordinate and perform office operations to support Captain or Lieutenant.
