Sheriff Christopher A. Blackmon leads the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office with over 35 years of experience in law enforcement. He is known for his operational excellence, regional leadership, and dedication to community engagement. His commitment to public safety is unwavering.

He graduated from Vincennes University in Indiana with a bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security. In 1990, he joined the Florida Highway Patrol as part of the 84th Recruit Class. Mothers Against Drunk Driving recognized him early in his career for his DUI enforcement efforts.

Throughout his career, Sheriff Blackmon rose through the ranks of the Florida Highway Patrol. He became a Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and Major over Troop D, covering Central Florida, including Osceola County. In 2023, he was appointed Regional Chief over Troops C, D, and K. This role spanned 13 counties and managed nearly 1,000 personnel.
He also led patrol operations along the 450-mile Florida Turnpike system. In addition, he served as the Statewide Immigration Incident Commander for the Florida Highway Patrol and is a deputized U.S. Marshal. His responsibilities included high-profile state and federal coordination, emergency response, and interagency collaboration.

Sheriff Blackmon is also committed to community service. He volunteers with Special Olympics, Little League, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. His dedication to serving and uplifting the community is evident.

Born and raised in Pensacola, Florida, Sheriff Blackmon developed a strong sense of community and service from an early age. He is married to his wife, Julia, who retired from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office after thirty years of distinguished service, concluding her career as a Captain over the School Resource Division. They have three children: their son, Chad, a State Trooper, and daughters, Ashley and Lauren, who live in Central Florida. Sheriff Blackmon is also a proud grandfather of three, with a new grandchild expected in September. Outside of his professional life, he is a passionate sports enthusiast, with a special love for the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team and the UCF Knights football team.
