shooting investigation Kissimmee Osceola County (May 26, 2020) On May 23, 2020, at approximately 2:00 AM, deputies responded to 2902 Bonita Circle in Kissimmee in regards to a possible shooting. On scene, deputies found evidence that a shooting did take place and someone was injured, but no one involved in the incident was on the scene when deputies arrived. Deputies and detectives worked continually to try to find the persons involved in this case. The investigation led detectives to identify the following people as being involved; Thaddeous Warrington, Malik Brown and Mark Velez-Amador, and Lana Teresa Van, who is 17 years old. On the morning of 5/24/20, the Ocala Police Department responded to a brush fire within their jurisdiction. There they discovered a deceased male, which was later linked to this investigation. That same morning Daytona Beach Police Department stopped a vehicle belonging to Miss Van and made contact with her, Mr. Warrington and Mr. Velez-Amador. Positive identification was made of the deceased male found in Ocala to be, Malik Brown. Osceola County Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to Ocala and Daytona Beach to continue their investigation. The subjects involved in this case cooperated with the investigation and were later arrested on the following arrest warrants; Mark A Velez-Amador and Thaddeous A Warrington for 1st Degree Murder and Lana Van for Accessory after the Fact.
