Captain Ron Roberts began his law enforcement career in 2001 and has been a member of the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office since 2007. He started as a patrol deputy and has earned several promotions, progressing to the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and Major. His experience at the Sheriff’s Office includes patrol, criminal investigations, and various training units.
During his time in the training unit, he served as the lead defensive tactics instructor and the coordinator for the Field Training Program. He has supervised both patrol and criminal investigation divisions as a Sergeant and Lieutenant. Additionally, he is a member of the agency’s S.W.A.T. team and currently serves as one of the agency’s High-Risk Incident Commanders.
Captain Ron Roberts holds a bachelor’s degree in General Studies and a master’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia College. He graduated from Valencia College’s Public Safety Development and Leadership Course and completed Leadership Osceola in 2018. In 2020, he graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy. Captain Roberts also served four years in the United States Navy as an Operations Specialist before receiving an honorable discharge.
