Major Alejandro Guevara is a highly decorated law enforcement leader with over 25 years of distinguished service in public safety. Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, and raised in Bayamón, he later moved to Central Florida and graduated from Gateway High School in 1994 before serving honorably in the United States Marine Corps.
He began his law enforcement career with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office in 1999, earning positions on elite units including the Community Response Team and SWAT. Rising through the ranks, he commanded multiple divisions as Sergeant and Captain, overseeing complex investigations and critical patrol operations. After serving with the Florida Highway Patrol for four years, he was invited to return to the Sheriff’s Office in 2025, where he now serves as Major under Sheriff Chris Blackmon.
Major Guevara holds dual master’s degrees — in Criminal Justice Administration and Business Administration — and is a graduate of the Valencia College Public Safety Leadership Development Program. His leadership and dedication have been recognized with numerous honors, including Univision’s prestigious Nuestros Héroes (“Our Heroes”) Community Award in 2017.
