Homicide investigation Update – Arrest

Jace Steven Gipson Arrested

Osceola County (August 17, 2020) On August 14, 2020, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shots fired at the Red Star Restaurant and Bar located at 4561 West Irlo Bronson Highway. When deputies arrived they discovered a male later identified as Kenneth Lester Leggett 03/22/1964, had been shot in the parking lot of the Duo Boutique Hotel located at 4559 West Irlo Bronson Highway. Kenneth later succumbed to his injuries. The investigation is still ongoing and we have no further information to provide at this time.

During the course of the investigation, Jace Steven Gipson 04/20/1992 was developed as a suspect. On August 16, 2020, detectives developed probable cause to obtain a warrant for second-degree murder. With the assistance of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Gipson was arrested. He is currently being held at the Osceola County Jail with a zero bond. Gipson did not cooperate with the investigation.
