Captain Freddy Rivera

South Patrol

Captain Freddy Rivera Jr. has served Osceola County for 28 years with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. Since 1998, he has held diverse assignments, gaining extensive experience in patrol and investigative operations.

Captain Rivera’s assignments include the Patrol Division, Community Response Team, Street Narcotics and Gangs, Property Crimes, Robbery, and the Tourism Policing Unit. As Sergeant, he supervised Patrol, Property Crimes, Robbery, and the Violent Crimes Unit, including Homicide investigations. As Lieutenant, he served in Patrol Operations and the Criminal Investigations Division. He now commands the South Patrol Division as Captain.

Captain Rivera is pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice at Valencia College and is a graduate of the Valencia Public Safety Leadership Course. He has also completed Major Case Management training to further enhance his leadership and investigative skills.

Captain Rivera has received multiple Unit Citations and Letters of Appreciation for his service and dedication. He was also recognized as Employee of the Month for his commitment to excellence and professionalism.

Born in Long Island, New York, Captain Rivera remains dedicated to protecting the community and mentoring future law enforcement professionals.
