Major Jeff Curtis is a US Army combat veteran who served in military intelligence. Then served in the Florida National Guard in explosive ordnance disposal.

He started his career in Law Enforcement at the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office in 1996. He has served as a deputy sheriff in patrol, as a field training officer, a K-9 handler and trainer, mounted patrol, patrol sergeant, patrol FTO sergeant, court services sergeant and civil process sergeant.

For the past 14 years Major Curtis has been a state certified Criminal Justice Academy Instructor. He is certified to train both recruits and instructors in firearms and emergency vehicle operations. Major Curtis has also served as a Teen Driver Challenge Instructor, firearms instructor, emergency vehicle operator instructor, and CPR instructor for the Sheriff’s Office. As Captain, he managed Judicial Services.

In 2019 Sheriff Russell Gibson promoted Curtis to Major overseeing the Patrol Bureau of the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

Major Curtis is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute’s Command Officers Development Course. He is a subject matter expert with the Florida Sheriff’s Association in the following areas:
