Captain Jeff Curtis –
Judicial Services Division

Captain Jeff Curtis is a US Army combat veteran who served in military intelligence and then served in the Florida National Guard in explosive ordnance disposal. He started his career in Law Enforcement at the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office in 1996 and has served as a deputy sheriff in patrol, as a field training officer, a K-9 handler and trainer, mounted patrol, patrol sergeant, patrol FTO sergeant, court services sergeant and civil process sergeant. For the past 14 years Captain Curtis has been a state certified Criminal Justice Academy Instructor and is certified to train both recruits and instructors in firearms and emergency vehicle operations. He has also served as a Teen Driver Challenge Instructor, firearms instructor, emergency vehicle operator instructor, and CPR instructor for the Sheriff’s Office.  He was promoted to Captain by Sheriff Russell Gibson and currently oversees Judicial Services.

Captain Curtis is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute’s Command Officers Development Course and is a subject matter expert with the Florida Sheriff’s Association in the areas of K-9, Firearms, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal.
