Warrants Issued Suspect Who Fled from Custody
Osceola County, Florida – Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies have obtained a felony warrants for Cesar Omar Diaz-Rojas for Escape, Assault, Battery, Retail Theft, Resisting a Merchant, Petit Theft and Resisting Arrest Without Violence. The investigation began on January 5 at approximately 10:21 p.m. when deputies responded to Target located at 4795 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the loss prevention manager who indicated they had detained Rojas after they observed him stealing merchandise. Rojas is a suspect in three other petit thefts at the same location. Based on the information provided by the loss prevention manager, Rojas was arrested and placed in handcuffs. He was escorted to a deputy’s patrol car and, as the deputy was opening the door, Rojas broke away from the deputy and fled on foot toward U.S. Highway 192. The deputy lost sight of Rojas.
Additional units including, K-9 and Aviation responded, but at that time could not locate Rojas. The investigation is continuing.
Rojas has a criminal history which includes property crimes and drug arrests. He was last seen wearing blue gym shorts and a white and black t-shirt with a stripe on it. Calls made to Crimeline remain anonymous and, tips that lead to the felony arrest of suspects and/or the recovery of stolen property and drugs are eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000 dollars.
