Osceola County, Florida – Last week, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team participated in the 34th Annual SWAT Round-Up International Competition held in Orange County. The 8-member team placed 4th out of 60 teams worldwide and won the Presidential Award of Excellence. The annual event combines education and training with head-to-head competition. Special operations teams from law enforcement agencies internationally compete in five-man team events and several individual challenges.
Members of the team competing this year were Team Captain Lt. Wiley Black and team members Sgt. Ryan Holl, Detective Danny Diloreto, Agent Heath Riley, Deputy Glenn White, Deputy Corey Griffin, Deputy Aaron Young and Deputy Clint Schroeder.
“We at the Sheriff’s Office are proud of our SWAT team’s performance and finish at this year’s competition. They have trained hard as a team all year, not only for this competition, but for real world events. Their dedication and team work helps prepare them for any situation,” stated Sheriff Bob Hansell.
