Sex Offender Arrested for Possession of Marijuana

Osceola County, Florida – On May 27 at approximately 12:45 p.m., Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies with the Community Response Team West were conducting routine patrol in the area of America’s Best Inn located at 5150 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee. As they walked by room 6307, deputies could detect a strong odor or marijuana. They made contact with the residents of the room, Angel Rodriguez who is a documented gang member, and his girlfriend.

During the course of the investigation, deputies located $5,300 in cash, 5 grams of marijuana, several small bags, a scale and a loaded handgun. Deputies also confirmed Rodiguez was a registered sexual offender who failed to register. Two small children were in the room, so deputies notified the Department of Children and Families.

Based on the evidence, Rodriguez was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Comply with Registration Laws and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Rodriguez was booked into the Osceola County Jail.
