Sex Offender Arrested for 9 Counts of Possession

Osceola County, Florida – Today, Osceola County Sheriff’s detectives arrested Ricardo Torres (DOB 6/20/73) and charged him with 9 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

The investigation began in March, when detectives identified a computer with an IP address that was linked to child pornography. On April 15, detectives discovered the computer was at a residence located at 319 Caen Court in Kissimmee. On April 16, detectives executed a search warrant at the address which is the home of Torres. They took into evidence his computer and he was taken into custody and interviewed. He told detectives he accidentally downloaded the child pornography and immediately deleted the files, but detectives located at least 9 child pornography files on the computer. Torres is currently a registered sexual offender. In May of 2000, he was convicted of Unlawful Sexual Activity with Certain Minors 16/17 Years Old. He is also employed as a computer technician in Orlando. Based on the evidence, he was arrested and booked into the Osceola County Jail.
