Road Rage Incident and Aggravated Assault
Osceola County, Florida – On April 25 at approximately 7:15 p.m., Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the intersection of Fortune Road and Fortunata Court in Kissimmee. Upon arrival, deputies observed two males arguing. One male was armed with a machete. Deputies spoke with the victim who indicated he was in the turn lane on Simpson Road waiting to turn east on Fortune Road, when the driver of a white van cut him off in traffic. The victim used his horn to get the attention of the driver of the white van, later identified as Jose Reinardo Rosado. Rosado exited his van and approached the victim waving a machete. He got back in his van and both drivers traveled east on Fortune Road. Rosado drove slowly down Fortune Road and pulled onto the grass. When the victim attempted to drive by, Rosado struck the victim’s car with his van.
Deputies spoke with Rosado who cooperated with the investigation. Rosado provided a similar account of the incident admitting to threatening the victim with a machete, but he told deputies he did not hit the victim’s car with his van. Instead, Rosado indicated the victim hit Rosado’s van.
Based on the statements and evidence, Rosado was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Rosado was booked into the Osceola County Jail with $1,500 bond.
