Mounted Patrol and Civilian Posse Win Awards

Osceola County, Florida – Recently, members of the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office participated in the First Responder Games held in Tampa, Florida.

Eleven members of the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Sheriff’s Office Mounted Patrol and Civilian Posse competed in five categories: Barrel Race, Gymkhana, Jumping, Equitation Dressage, Team Ride and Day/Night Obstacles and took home 27 awards.

In the sworn personnel category Deputy Adam West took first place in Barrels, Jumping, Night Obstacles and Gymkhana and second place in Day Obstacles. Sgt. Andy Strecker took second place in Jumping, Dressage, and Night Obstacles and third place in Day Obstacles. Deputy Jack Drew took second place in Gymkhana and third place in Dressage and Night Obstacles. Lt. Brian Adams took second place in Barrels. Deputy Nicole Olesen took third place in Barrels.

In the non-sworn personnel category Jennifer Haddock took first place in Overall, Barrels and Jumping, second place in Day Obstacles, third place in Equitation. Chris Ford took third place in Dressage and Day Obstacles. Adreinne White took first place in Night Obstacles. Carie Sparkes took second place in Equitation.

Kia Dobbins, Lt. Brian Adams and Jennifer Haddock took second place in the Team Ride.

“This competition provides valuable training for their unit. The Sheriff’s Office is proud of all their accomplishments,” stated Sheriff Bob Hansell.
The First Responder Games give law enforcement and fire rescue personnel in Florida an opportunity compete annually in more than 30 sports categories.
