Habitual Traffic Offender, Registered Felon Arrest
Osceola County, Florida – On October 26 at approximately 11:19 p.m., Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop a vehicle driving recklessly on the Turnpike headed southbound. The driver, later identified as Pedro Antonio Rodriguez refused to stop for deputies and continued driving. Eventually, the driver stopped after deputies deployed spike strips which caused a tire to deflate. When deputies approached the driver, Rodriguez appeared to be intoxicated. Deputies located open beer containers on the passenger side of the vehicle.
Rodriguez was taken to the Osceola County Jail to be interviewed. He told deputies he had consumed two beers at approximately 1:00 p.m. and was driving to south Florida to meet a friend. During the interview, Rodriguez was given several sobriety field tests.
Based on the results, Rodriguez was arrested and charged with Failure to Obey Law Enforcement Orders, Fleeing and Eluding Law Enforcement, Driving Without a License Habitual Offender, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Refusing to Submit to a Breathalyzer Test. After further investigation, detectives confirmed Rodriguez had been arrested and convicted in 2010 and 2012 for DUI and was listed as a Habitual Traffic Offender. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail with no bond.
