Four Suspects Arrested for Denny’s Armed Robbery

Osceola County, Florida – Osceola County Sheriff’s detectives arrested four suspects for their involvement in an armed robbery. This morning at approximately 2:48 a.m., deputies responded to Denny’s Restaurant located at 840 Cypress Parkway in Poinciana. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with employees and customers who indicated two suspects, later identified as Desiree McAlister and Rolando Gil-Gomez enter the restaurant, implied they had a weapon and demanded money from the employees. Once the employees complied, the suspects approached the several customers and demanded their money and cell phones. As they were leaving the restaurant, the suspects attempted to force an employee into their car, but were unsuccessful. They attempted to leave the area, but deputies responding to the incident saw the vehicle leaving the parking lot. Deputies conducted a traffic stop and took into custody four individuals: Jorge Ruiz, Angela Ruiz, Desiree McAlister and Rolando Gil-Gomez. They cooperated with the investigation and based on their statements and the evidence, all four suspects were charged with 5 counts of Armed Robbery, 5 counts of Aggravated Assault, 5 counts of Grand Theft. In addition, Ruiz and Gil-Gomez were charged with Kidnapping and Macalister was charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer. They were booked into the Osceola County Jail.
