Couple Arrested for Credit Card and Grand Theft
Osceola County, Florida – On January 27, Osceola County Sheriff’s detectives obtained felony warrants and arrested Jonattan E. Acevedo and Zenaida Gonzalez charged with Theft of a Credit Card and Grand Theft.
The investigation began on December 16 when deputies took a report of possible theft. The complainant told deputies he wanted to file a report on behalf of his 64-year old friend who was in the hospital being treated for a serious form of cancer. The complainant received a call from the victim’s banking institution indicating suspicious credit card transactions. Detectives discovered that between December 12-14, 2015, the victim’s credit card had been used at various stores in Kissimmee to total purchases of approximately $850.00. These purchases were made at 7-Eleven, Home Depot, Walmart, RaceTrac and Sports Authority.
After further investigation, detectives identified Acevedo and Gonzalez as suspects. In December, both suspects were staying at the Star Motel and working for the motel cleaning rooms which provided them access to all the rooms. They have since moved and no longer reside in Osceola County. The victim also lives and works at the motel. While the victim was in the hospital, Acevedo and Gonzalez took his credit card and made numerous purchases without the victim’s knowledge. Detectives also obtained evidence which connected both suspects to the credit card theft.

On January 27, they located both suspects in Orlando and brought them in for questioning.
