Alleged Victim Arrested for Filing a False Armed Robbery Report

Osceola County, Florida – Osceola County Sheriff’s detectives arrested Roderick Hazely and charged him with Knowingly Giving False Information to Law Enforcement and Making a False Report.

The investigation began on June 28 at approximately 10:00 p.m. when deputies responded to East Donegan Avenue and Old Dixie Highway. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the alleged victim, Roderick Hazely who indicated he was approached by two males, one armed with a knife, who demanded his personal items. He said the men took his wallet and fled the area.

After further investigation, detectives determined Hazely lied about the incident to avoid making a scheduled court payment which was due as part of his probation status. Hazely is on probation for an Orange County cocaine charge. Hazely led detectives to the area where he discarded his wallet. Based on his statements, Hazely was arrested and booked into the Osceola County Jail.
