Osceola County, Florida – Today Osceola County Sheriff’s detectives added more charges for David Lee Brown. A family member told detectives a 13-year old girl, not related to Brown, may have been inappropriately touched by him. Detectives brought the girl in for questioning and she told them on at least two occasions Brown inappropriately touched her and he solicited her to perform a lewd act. Based on her statements, detectives charged Brown with 2 counts of Lewd & Lascivious Molestation and 1 count of Lewd & Lascivious Conduct. He is currently in the Osceola County Jail for unrelated charges.

Background:

On January 15, investigators obtained a felony warrant for Brown charged with 10 counts of Sexual Battery on a Child and 7 counts of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation.

The investigation began January 14 when deputies took a report of possible sexual battery. They spoke with the 12-year old victim who indicated Brown, a family member, has been inappropriately touched her. She told deputies the incidents took place over the last year beginning when she was 11 years old. The victim said on at least 10 occasions, Brown has had sex with her and touched her inappropriately numerous times, but she was afraid to tell anyone. It wasn’t until recently when the victim’s demeanor changed that family members began to suspect something was affecting her behavior and she disclosed the information.

On January 15, detectives made numerous attempts to locate Brown to bring him in for questioning. Brown is a registered felon and several years ago was released from the Florida Department of Corrections after being sentenced to 15 years for drug related charges.

Based on the victim’s statements and the evidence, a felony warrant was issued for his arrest. On January 19, David Lee Brown, Sr. was located in Kissimmee and arrested without incident by Osceola County Sheriff’s detectives with the Community Response Team West. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail.
