The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and several local law enforcement agencies, will participate in the National Take Back Initiative on Saturday, April 26, 2025. This event offers community members a safe and convenient way to dispose of expired, unwanted, or unused prescription and non-prescription medications at the following locations:
• Poinciana Medical Center
325 Cypress Parkway, Poinciana
• Walgreens Celebration
6230 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, Celebration
• HCA Florida Osceola East Emergency
4920 E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, St. Cloud
The goal of this one-day initiative is to raise awareness about the dangers of prescription drug misuse—a growing public safety and health concern. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s National Survey on Drug Use and Health, more than seven million Americans currently misuse prescription drugs.
Safely returning medications helps prevent accidental use, especially by children or vulnerable individuals, and protects the environment by avoiding improper disposal.
Since 2011, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office has proudly participated in this program, collecting thousands of pounds of medications.
Join Sheriff Marcos R. Lopez and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office in making our community safer and healthier.
