Kevin McGinley

Chief Deputy

Chief Deputy Kevin McGinley has over 28 years of law enforcement experience, including 4 years in the United States Air Force as a Security Police Specialist.

With the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, Chief McGinley has had the opportunity to work in Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Training, Community Response, and Internal Affairs, as a deputy and sergeant. Chief McGinley was promoted to lieutenant, captain and major and he oversaw the Special Operations Division, Criminal Investigations Division, and our Training Unit.

Chief McGinley has served on our Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) since 1996 and has held positions including; operator, sniper, assistant team leader, team commander, and high risk incident commander.

Chief McGinley has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Columbia College and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from The University of Central Florida. He graduated from Leadership Osceola in 2013 and The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy in 2017. He is most proud of his 20 year marriage to his wife Darla and their daughter Riley.
