Osceola County, Florida - On January 28, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Flag Football team participated in a flag football tournament with 7 other public safety agencies. Hosted by the St. Cloud Police Department, the tournament was held to benefit two of their police officers who were involved in a shooting incident last year that injured both officers. Other agencies that participated included: St. Cloud Fire Department, Kissimmee Police Department, Kissimmee Fire Department, Osceola County Corrections, Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office took first place in the tournament and went undefeated throughout the tournament winning 4 straight games. They did not have a point scored against them until their third game where they beat the St. Cloud Police Department with a score of 36 to 12. The Championship game was a rematch between the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office team and the St. Cloud Police Department team. The Sheriff’s Office won 21 to 20.
