Install good locks and lock them! One of the best types of locks you can have on your front door is the deadbolt lock. Not all deadbolt locks are equal, though. Look for deadbolts with a one-inch extended bolt and a casehardened security cover installed over the lock cylinder. The security cover recesses the cylinder and covers the lock, making it more difficult to force or damage the locking mechanism.
