In an effort to raise awareness and support for Special Olympics, Sheriff Hansell and Osceola County Sheriff's deputies will participate in Tip-A-Cop Friday, tonight from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Outback Steakhouse located at 7804 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee and tomorrow at Woodsby's Cafe located at 4515 S. Orange Blossom Trail in Kissimmee from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The events are open to the public.
The Osceola County Sheriff's Office has openings for a self-defense awareness program for women scheduled for February 21, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. Self Defense Awareness Familiarization Exchange or SAFE is designed to educate women on how to protect themselves if they should become a victim. The 2-hour class teaches that 90% of self-defense is awareness, risk reduction and avoiding confrontation, while only 10% is physical.
Osceola County Sheriff's detectives arrested three suspects for their involvement in the Amscot armed robbery, home invasion and kidnapping. Late last night, detectives took into custody Christopher Stefan Perry and his brother Atwood A. Perry, Jr. in Columbia, South Carolina. They are currently confined in the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County, South Carolina. Earlier this morning, Jonathan Albert Giraldo was arrested in Lexington, Kentucky. He is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
Osceola County Sheriff's detectives have descriptions for two suspects involved in the Amscot incident. One suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6'2”, 210 lbs. with dreadlocks. He was wearing a black beanie cap and all black clothing. The second suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5'5”, 180 lbs. with short hair and a medium build.
Osceola County Sheriff's detectives are currently investigating a home invasion/kidnapping at 4509 Oakbrook Court in Kissimmee. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office received the call at approximately 9:19 a.m. as an attempt to contact at the residence. No one was injured in the home invasion/kidnapping. The incident is connected to an armed robbery at Amscot that the Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. This is an on-going investigation. Additional information will be provided when it becomes available.

Osceola County Sheriff's detectives need the public's help in identifying an unknown male involved in a suspicious incident. The investigation began on February 1 at approximately 4:00 p.m. when deputies responded to the area of Seven Dwarf's Lane and W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway. They spoke with a 13-year old girl who indicated she was at the corner waiting for her mother when an unknown male drove into the parking lot and began talking to her. He told the girl he was new to the area and asked her if she wanted to get in the car and go get something to eat. The girl pointed at a vehicle indicating her mother was in the parking lot. The man left the area in a green or maroon Ford Explorer.
Osceola County Sheriff's deputies arrested Lisa Fowlkes and Gary Pronesti and charged them with Sale/Offering Counterfeiting Private Labels. The investigation began on January 27 at approximately 2:00 p.m. when deputies responded to Old Town located at 5770 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee.
On January 28, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Flag Football team participated in a flag football tournament with 7 other public safety agencies. Hosted by the St. Cloud Police Department, the tournament was held to benefit two of their police officers who were involved in a shooting incident last year that injured both officers. Other agencies that participated included: St. Cloud Fire Department, Kissimmee Police Department, Kissimmee Fire Department, Osceola County Corrections, Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
On January 27, Dr. Jose Menendez-Campos was sentenced to 25 years in state prison for his involvement in an organized drug trafficking operation. The investigation began in early May 2010, when Osceola County Investigative Bureau agents received information about a possible drug trafficking operation. On October 26, OCIB agents conducted an undercover operation and arrested two suspects, Tyrone Anderson and William Frank Sellers, involved in the drug trafficking. They recovered 56 prescriptions for 18 separate patients. Based on the arrests, agents were able to obtain two search warrants in Sarasota County.
Osceola County -- The Osceola County Sheriff's Office is advising the public about Elihu Jacob Lloyd (DOB 6/6/69) who is a registered sexual predator by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and recently moved to a new residence. He currently resides at 1651 Faith Street in Intercession City. Lloyd was convicted of the following: • ?3 Counts of Sexual Battery/Coercion of a Child by an Adult F.S.S. 794.011(8)(b) on August 4, 2010, in Osceola County.

Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee.
On January 24 at approximately 8:50 p.m., Osceola County Sheriff's deputies responded to 487 Floral Drive in Buenaventura Lakes. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a neighbor who indicated he was sitting on his front porch when he saw an unknown male kick in the door at 487 Floral Drive, the house across the street from him. Several minutes later, he observed the man leave the house with unknown items.
The Osceola County Sheriff's Office is advising the public about Scott Bradfield (DOB 9/5/68), registered sexual predator by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement who recently moved. Bradfield resides at 1651 Faith Street in Intercession City. Bradfield was convicted of the following: • Sexual Battery by an Adult/Victim Under 12; F.S.S. 794.011(2) in Osceola County, on May 3, 1999.
The Osceola County Sheriff's Office is advising the public about Larry Joseph St. Peter (DOB 9/25/74), registered sexual predator by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement who recently moved. St. Peter resides at 521 Maricopa Drive in Poinciana. St. Peter was convicted of the following: Sexual Battery by an Adult/Victim Under 12; F.S.S. 794.011(2) in Lake County, Florida on February 26, 2008 & Child Molestation in Coweta County, Georgia on November 22, 2002.

Osceola County Sheriff's detectives need the public's help in identifying two armed robbery suspects. The investigation began on January 22 at approximately 1:09 a.m. when deputies responded to Perkins Restaurant located at 5170 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the store manager who indicated two men walked into the restaurant, identified themselves as employees with ADT, showed him identification and asked to speak with the manager. They told the manager they were working on the security system and asked him to go to outside with them. When he walked outside, he saw what appeared to be work cables and a 4-door hatchback vehicle. The suspects took the manager into the office at gunpoint and demanded money from the safe. They left the area with an undisclosed amount of money. This all occurred in the back of the restaurant, so employees and customers were unaware of the incident.
This morning, a Bench Warrant was issued to revoke bond for Matthew Scheidt on his original Impersonating a Physician charges. Scheidt is currently in the Miami-Dade Correctional Facility after being re-arrested last night on an Osceola County felony warrant for Grand Theft. Law enforcement located Scheidt at a friend's residence in Homestead. Based on the new warrant, Scheidt should remain in jail until he is extradited to Osceola County, which at the earliest would be next week. Osceola County Sheriff's detectives are in Miami-Dade County continuing the investigation.
The Crimeline reward for information leading to an arrest in the Fifth/Third Bank armed robbery has increased to $10,000 dollars. Osceola County Sheriff's detectives need the public's help in identifying three armed robbery suspects. The investigation began on January 17 at approximately 1:12 p.m. when deputies responded to Fifth Third Bank located at 9020 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee.
Late this afternoon, Osceola County Sheriff's detectives obtained a felony warrant for Grand Theft for Matthew Thomas Scheidt. On January 19, Osceola County Sheriff's detectives were contacted by the Miami Beach Police Department regarding the arrest of Scheidt for Impersonating a Police Officer. Miami Beach police officers indicated Scheidt had in his possession a badge, law enforcement equipment and several identification cards. Osceola County detectives confirmed a non-functioning Motorala radio and one of the identification cards belonged to the Sheriff's Office. The identification card, indicating Scheidt was in the Explorer Program was reported missing by Scheidt in 2010. At this time, it does not appear the other equipment in Scheidt's possession belongs to any law enforcement agencies, but was obtained by Scheidt independently.

Osceola County Sheriff's detectives concluded a week long, multi-agency, undercover operation which resulted in 40 suspects arrested and charged with soliciting sex from a child via the Internet and other sex and drug related crimes. Led by the Osceola County Sheriff's Office, Operation Red Cheeks was conducted January 8-16, 2012, in conjunction with detectives, officers and special agents of the Central Florida Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
Osceola County Sheriff's detectives need the public's help in identifying an individual involved in a suspicious incident near Highlands Elementary School. The investigation began on January 4 when deputies responded to the area of Carroll Street and Green Meadow Circle. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a female adult who indicated she was approached by 2 young girls (approximately 7-8 years old) who said a man exposed himself to them. The girls told the female a man in a car asked them to approach the vehicle and when they did he was exposing himself. The girls left the area before deputies could speak with them. The female indicated she saw a white SUV in the area that appeared suspicious.
Osceola County Sheriff's detectives need the public's help in identifying a robbery suspect. The investigation began on January 9 at approximately 11:21 p.m. When deputies responded to 875 Cypress Parkway in Poinciana. According to the victim, an unknown suspect approached her when she was at the drive-through ATM and demanded money at gunpoint. The victim screamed and the suspect fled on foot. She was not injured during the incident.
Osceola County Sheriff's detectives need the public's help in identifying an armed carjacking suspect. The investigation began January 7 at approximately 11:41 p.m. when deputies responded to 516 Kilimanjaro Drive in Poinciana. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who indicated he was at the intersection of Kilimanjaro Drive and Hunter Road driving his gold, 2000, Land Rover Discovery when an unknown male waved at him. He rolled down his window and the suspect pulled out a handgun and told the victim to get out of the car. He fled the area in the victim's vehicle traveling towards KOA Road.
